Sunday Recap

Today, despite freezing temperatures which subsequently caused low attendance, we had a rewarding experience at both worship opportunities. Usually the third Sunday is Youth Sunday at GSJ and they blessed us tremendously. I preached a message from John chapter 1 verse 14, entitled “The Word Became Flesh.” The Lord blessed the preaching of His Word and the people were the better for it.

During the 8am service, we were blessed to have in attendance the Delaware State Basketball Team. They were in town the night before competing with the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame for the first time in their school's history. Although they did not come away with a win, a lot was learned from the experience and more impressive than that, they made it a point to worship with a church in our community prior to leaving. We were extremely honored to be that church. They found us on the web thanks to Dr. R. G. Moore, Jr., Pastor of Union Baptist Church (unionmbc.org), Dover, Delaware. It may have been blistering cold outside but, that was not the case inside. Special thanks to Brother Richard Armstrong who is responsible for the above photos. I truly thank him for capturing this moment for us. God be praised for showing Himself strong among His people.

This is a blessing. I'm a basketball freak and love to see the other side of sports off the court. Thank you!

Pastor McGhee,

God is truly blessing our church family. Looks like GSJ church family had a wonderful time in the Lord. Sorry I missed the service. I guess I'll have to buy one of Sunday CD tapes. Praying for you & your family.

Be Blessed!

That's so nice that the young men made it their business to attend worship service before leaving town and what an honor to be "that church". I trust that they were blessed!

I wasn't able to make it to service this week because I've been sick and it was freezing here in Phila. too so I thank God for TV, internet, radio and the other avenues He's provided us with to hear His word when we aren't able to assemble ourselves with the rest of the body.

Blessings!

Thanks Pastor, I felt obligated to capture those visitors in a photo. They will be an inspiration to both the young men and women of our Church. To take the time out for Church really keeps you in the right frame of mind. When I spoke to a couple of the young men about the game, it was obvious that they appreciated the experience and the loss was not one of those devastating experiences. Those were very together young men heading towards a Christian Walk that will take them on a wonderful and humbling life. Hope our youth were watching and listening very closely.

Pastor,

The message was good on Sunday although, you got us when you ended. I wasn't ready for that. It was great to see the team there especially for Davohn who was blessed to go to the game on Saturday. He was really excited about that.

Thanks for all that you do,
