Walking Sermons

With every passing moment of my life, the urgency to live for God’s glory, and to allow my walk with Him to be a witness to unbelieving humanity becomes paramount. Truth be told, we don’t always know whose watching us. Consequently, it behooves us to remain cognizant of what our daily lifestyle says about our walk with Christ. Paul, in his second epistle to the Corinthians, says:

"Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart." -2 Cor. 3:3(KJV)

With that in mind, let me end this brief post by sharing an inspirational piece by poet Edgar Guest:

I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day.
I’d rather one would walk with me than merely show the way.
The eye’s a better pupil and much sharper than the ear.
Fine counsel can confuse me, but example’s always clear.
The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I’d rather get my lesson by observing what you do.

I see the urgency of having my SOUL in proper order for his glorious and magnificent return. The older I get the more Bolder I have become in my stance for JESUS CHRIST, I am not ashamed of the Gospel. We are to let our light shine in this world of darkness, the Bible states in the book of Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. With this mind we should be so mindful of our Christian Walk, I heard it said that some may only see the nearest thing to a Church, is the Christ which lives within us. We are surrounded by others who are observing and listening to every word and action that proceeds from us. I like how it’s said in Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In this time when there are so many wolves in sheep's clothing, in the world it is very important that people recognize the difference between the light and the darkness. God said, that we were created in his image and likeness. Image is a reflection like a mirror when people look at us they should see Christ in us.
I desire to reflect the image of Christ in everything that I do.
Great Post~~~ God Bless
p.s. In regards to your prior blog keep preaching the good news of giving, some people don't want to hear it, but thats ok because you are blessing them by teaching them how to be blessed through obedience.

Pastor Andre',

Great post my brother. i appreciate your love for the exposition of the Word. It has become a rarity in our churches and pulpits today, but it still the only true means of communicating the truths of God to our people. Keep it up my brother. You are a blessing.

McGhee, I ALWAYS find a sermon when I come to your blog. You are a dynamic preacher! Without having heard you proclaim as of yet; your life and your clear walk and study - are so transparent. I pray that you will continue to grow in your stewardship of God's Word and His Kingdom. Please know that you are encouraging so many. For real!
